Almost 10 years have passed since college student Amanda Knox was arrested for murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher in Italy. The controversial case made her a household name, and the debate still rages today about her innocence. After years of bouncing around the legal system, being convicted and then having that conviction ultimately overturned in 2015, Knox has attempted to return to “normalcy” (whatever that means).
She’s now an author and a journalist, and a highly-rated Netflix documentary from last year reignited public interest in Knox and her past.
Knox also recently made her Instagram account open to the public. Whether that was a good or a bad move for her public image is still up for debate. Some of the photos are pretty basic: travel, time with girlfriends, etc.
But other pics are very odd, and have the public scratching their heads a bit. Particularly this one of her dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood, with the Big Bad Wolf stalking her in the forest. Some folks online have pointed out that the costume was a strange choice for someone who was charged murder, due to the fact that the Little Red Riding Hood character is known to represent sexual repression and rape fantasies.
What do you think? Does it seem kind of strange, or is it just someone who likes to dress up in costumes for fun?
Knox’s photos also generate a fair amount of feedback, both positive and negative, from Instagram users. She posted a pic of herself wearing a t-shirt with handcuffs that reads, “It Could Happen to You” and her followers on both side of the aisle weighed in.
It will be interesting to see what direction Amanda Knox’s life heads in the future. For now, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for updates on her always-interesting Instagram account.
