Carrie Fisher passed away at the age of 60 almost exactly one year ago, and it’s safe to say that she is still missed in a big way by fans across the world. It’s not only human beings who miss her, though. Judging by the reaction of Fisher’s beloved bulldog Gary at the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, her faithful companion really misses her too.

After Fisher’s death, Gary was taken in by Fisher’s assistant, Corby McCoin. Gary has become something of a celebrity in his own right, and he even has a tiny part in the new Star Wars film.

McCoin takes Gary to public events, and the little pooch has over 170,000 followers on Instagram.

But it was Gary’s reaction to his late mom’s appearance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi that really got people talking. The bulldog perked up when he saw Fisher on the big screen.

McCoin shared a pic back in October of Gary watching Fisher in the trailer of the film as well.

In a 2013 interview, Fisher said, “Gary is like my heart. Gary is very devoted to me and that calms me down. He’s anxious when he’s away from me.” At least we know the sweet little dog is in good hands, and he will always be able to watch his beloved mama on the big screen.
