Some women are more into beauty products than others. Me? I don’t have the slightest idea what 90% of the things are on the shelves at Sephora. That said, whether you’re super into it, mildly interested, or just want to be able to look younger than your age with the simplest routine possible, you need to have these 14 products in your cabinet!

#14. Vaseline

This is a great, versatile product that comes in varying sizes that are easy to stash here and there. It especially comes in handy during the winter months (they’re coming up!) to battle dry, cracked skin.

#13. Boar Bristle Hair Brush

The round ones are best, but any of these are great for getting a shiny, smooth look without sacrificing volume. If you’re a girl who’s got volume to spare (I feel you), a comb might be a better choice.

#12. Bobby Pins

Yes, you can expect to buy another sheet of 100 just about every six months (because heaven knows where they disappear to), but they’re a must-have for holding back those bangs you just had to have, pinning stray hairs back into a braid, or picking locks, Nancy Drew-style.

#11. Coconut Oil

I know, I know, people have been spouting the millions of uses for a while now, but it’s totally true! You can use it to take off your makeup, cure heartburn, shine your lips, moisturize your hair, and on and on!

#10. Liquid Eyeliner

Get it in black and it will end up being one of the most versatile weapons in your makeup arsenal. There is a learning curve to using it, but once you’ve got the hang of it, you can go from day to night in the blink of an eye.

#9. Lip Stain

Some ladies love a heavy, bright lipstick while others’ go-to product is lip gloss, but if you want something easier, lighter, and not so sticky, stain is a great way to give your lips that extra little boost of color without looking like you’re trying.

#8. Mascara

A minimum makeup routine for me (I’m in my mid-30s) is foundation, powder, blush, mascara. Mascara makes SUCH a big difference in making you appear awake when that may or may not technically be true.

#7. Facial Cleanser

My favorites are the wipes, because they’re easy to use, they travel well, and they don’t make a mess. Whatever you decide, a good way to clean your pores and strip makeup and oil from your face before bed is a must-have in your cabinet.

#6. Satin Pillowcase

This one sounds a bit odd, perhaps, or like your grandmother maybe suggested it, but it turns out she was on to something – the fabric can help keep your hair from getting matted and oily while you sleep.

#5. Toothpaste

Duh, right? But aside from better breath and oral health, did you know you can also use it to dab on a stubborn zit to help dry it out faster?

#4. Lotion

There are about a million choices out there, so choose the one you like best, but definitely have one on hand. Skin looks healthier and younger when it’s moisturized – especially your hands after all of those washings – so keep a travel size in your purse, too!

#3. Night Cream

It’s literally never too early to start taking care of the delicate skin around your mouth, eyes, and on your neck. Start young, and you’ll thank me later.

#2. Pumice Stone

It only takes a few minutes to rub it over your feet during the summer months, but everyone who looks down at your adorable sandals will be the better for it.

#1. Translucent Powder

It’s the minimum as far as a makeup regimen, but soaking up extra oil and giving some even coverage to dark spots is totally worth the couple of minutes it takes to apply. Make sure and indulge in some good brushes, too.
