At human libraries, you can ‘check out’ people instead of books. The human book volunteers are usually people with particularly unique experiences who’ve often been stereotyped in some way. Visitors browse through catalogs that describe each human book and choose one to have a conversation with so they can ask questions, get advice, or learn about alternate perspectives.
