Aside from his real last name, Einstein, making him the butt of all jokes as a kid, Carl Reiner was once asked by Johnny Carson who the funniest people in the world were and said: ‘Mel Brooks and a 12-year-old kid named Albert Einstein.’ At 19, he finally changed his last name to end the wisecracks- but Reiner calling him the ‘Funniest Man Alive’ ended up cursing him with a new standard that still follows him today.
