Dawn West has been in college since 1983. Wanting to play in the West Virginia University marching band, she’d saved all her babysitting money, bought a trumpet, and practiced until she got in. She got loan after loan to stay a full-time student and keep marching, but the school finally made an exception to let her only take band. She still loves it too much to leave, and her bandmates say she’s one of their most youthful members. Source Source 2
