DNA evidence was used to save a dog on death row. When Jeb, a 2-year-old service dog, was found near a dead Pomeranian, he was ordered euthanized even though no one saw him attack. Jeb’s owner didn’t believe he could be so violent, so he sent samples from the scene to a lab, they found DNA that belonged to a different dog, and Jeb’s life was saved. Source
