In 1973, a short ‘episode’ of Batman and Robin was released as a PSA to remind women of their rights under the Federal Equal Pay Law. The scene shows both superheroes tied to a pole next to a ticking bomb when Batgirl swoops in to save the day- but she refuses to help and instead scolds Batman for paying her less than Robin, because “same job, same employer means equal pay for men and women.” Source Source 2
