Inspired by the many homeless people who put their pets’ needs before their own, journalist Glenn Greenwald and his partner decided to create an animal shelter staffed by people who live on the streets- so they teamed up with local outreach groups and designed a shelter in Rio de Janeiro that finds homes for animals in need while also providing employment and social services to people who are homeless.
