There’s a time capsule in Georgia that’s preserving our culture for any ‘future inhabitants or visitors to our planet.’ The Crypt of Civilization was sealed in 1940 and contains the contents of a woman’s purse, a radio, Lincoln Logs, a Donald Duck toy, over 800 literary works, and voice recordings of Hitler, Stalin, FDR, and a champion hog caller. The chamber resembles a cell of an Egyptian pyramid with artifacts positioned on shelves and the floor. Anyone who opens the crypt will be addressed with a note that says: “The world is engaged in burying our civilization forever, and here in this crypt we leave it to you.”
