This ice cream is made from food waste. Portland’s Salt & Straw ice cream shop wanted to create new summer flavors while addressing the 40% of America’s food supply that ends up being thrown away unspoiled. They teamed up with local anti-waste businesses, breweries, and farms, rescued their leftovers, and made flavors that taste like rum, apple butter, candied bacon, and s’mores. Source Source 2
