Improvised home repairs we wouldn’t recommend to anyone
People who consider themselves to be handy often think they can fix any problem around the house.
We have put together a list of people who may have solved the problem, but not in the most perfect way.
Battery Charger

We have all been there where our laptop is dying but we can’t find our charging cord.
Would you ever hook your computer up to a car battery for a charge like this person did?
Washing Machine Pillar

What do you do if you do not have a base to pour your concrete into for your pillar?
Grab that old washing machine that has been sitting in the corner of your garage and pour the mixture into it, of course!
Showerhead Sink

Installing a showerhead in your kitchen sink is not something that we would think to do.
Technically it works and is doing the job, but something about it seems a little off.
Skateboard Fan

Have you ever wanted to make a ceiling fan but all you had were some extra skateboards?
That did not stop this person from making a ceiling fan because they love skateboarding.
Makeshift Cruise Control

Cruise control can be your best friend when you are on a long road trip.
Older cars unfortunately do not have it, so this person decided they would install a caulking gun under the steering wheel as homemade cruise control.
Pizza Laptop

This person looks like they will not give up on their laptop that keeps falling apart.
They have resorted to a pizza box as both a carrying case and a way to hold it all together.
Rainfall Shower

When you want to have a waterfall shower but do not want to have to pay for the fancy showerhead.
You can just make one yourself out of some plastic tubing.
Alarm System In A Pinch

If you are ever a little on edge about someone coming into your room when you are sleeping but do not have an alarm system, this could be the solution for you.
A few spoons in a pot will be sure to wake you if someone opens the door while you’re asleep.
The Old Toolbox Mailbox

Who says that you actually need to have a traditional mailbox in order to receive your mail?
Apparently not the owners of “mailbox” 501 on this street who are using a toolbox to receive their mail.
Umbrella Catch Net

These two men are either extremely smart or extremely dumb, and we’re pretty sure there is no in between.
They need to do some repairs on the boat and are using the umbrella to catch any screws that they may drop before they hit the water.
Homemade Downpipe

The downpipe on this building fell off and the owner elected to make one from some old soda bottles they had in the recycling bin.
We are not exactly sure how waterproof the pipe is.
Fork Fix

The security camera kept falling down and pointing directly downward.
Instead of calling in the repair company, they installed a fork to hold it in place. Not sure if an electrician would approve of it.
Homemade Wheelchair

What do you do when you need to have a wheelchair in a pinch and can’t afford a brand new one?
Attach some wheels onto one of the picnic chairs that is in your backyard!
Duct Tape Bumper

There are times when using a strip or two of duct tape will help to patch things up.
We do not think that we would let our car get so out of hand that we needed to use what looks like multiple rolls of duct tape.
Post-It Keyboard

When you have only one key that has broken off on your keyboard, it might not be worth it to have it brought in and fixed.
This person decided that they would just use a post-it note to remind them what key it was.
Mask Car Filters

What do you do when your car filters need to be replaced but you do not have any time to take your car in for service?
Just tape some face masks to the air vents and, in a way, they filter the air.
Filing Cabinet Smoker

This looks like an innovative way to repurpose an old filing cabinet.
The four drawers are now a smoker that looks to be smoking up some pretty delicious food.
Wile E. Coyote Truck

What do you do when you have a big dent in the side of your truck that you do not want to pay to fix?
Just slap a big Wile E. Coyote sticker on it and make it look like he dented it.
Wooden Wheel

This person could be seen as being either resourceful or cheap.
Resourceful because they made a wooden wheel for their lawnmower, and cheap because they wouldn’t just go out and buy a replacement wheel.
Garden Hose Bidet

Bidets are fairly common in most European countries.
Here in North America, they are not as common and can be hard to find if you really want one in your house. This person thought they could make one with a garden hose.
