As anyone who has spent any time in the hospital can tell you, nurses are absolute saints. They’re the people there for you in your darkest hour, the ones holding your hand while you’re in labor or advocating for you when the pain meds aren’t enough.
They’ve also been in the spotlight lately after Washington State Senator Maureen Walsh said that nurses probably spend most of their shifts “playing cards.”
