21+ Photos Of Times Where People Just Went For It

Every so often, a chance appears that’s simply impossible to pass up. When it arrives, you have to be ready to seize it with full commitment.

Sure, there’s always some risk involved. Yet for those who jumped in with determination and kept their eyes on the prize, the rewards made every challenge worthwhile.

The greeting card everybody wants!

While browsing Walmart, Reddit user SCNED came across a greeting card that perfectly captured why this dog looks so unsure of itself. It’s a little cheeky, and the more people saw it, the more they questioned what occasion it was meant for.

As it happens, it’s a birthday card. Rather than saying “Happy birthday, feel inadequate,” the inside message reads, “I hope your birthday beats expectations.”

McDonaldLand has a bloodier history than it seems

painting
doginthewindow123/reddit

Many people confuse this painting with D-Day, but the ships appear too dated for that. Instead, it seems to be a playful take on Washington’s crossing of the Delaware.

Whether that means the Hamburglar represents Benedict Arnold is unclear, but it makes sense once you learn this artwork is displayed in England. Seems like some Revolutionary War grudges still linger after more than 250 years!

This is one expensive gimmick

sink2
upvoatsforall/reddit

Reddit user upvoatsforall points out that this custom sink carries a $2,000 price tag, and it’s tough to understand why anyone would choose it. The gimmick is clever, but that’s about all it has going for it.

Seriously, couldn’t they come up with a more practical design? Between repairs and broken glass, this sink will likely end up costing way more than $2,000 in the long run.

Not so scary anymore, huh?

exorcist
JoeHexotic/reddit

Out of everything you’d imagine being turned cute, the 1973 horror classic The Exorcist would probably be the last.

Still, somehow even its scary features—like demonic sores and vomit—look surprisingly charming when recreated in yarn. How did this terrifying icon become such an irresistibly adorable little character?

Now it’s Regina who’s been personally victimized

For anyone curious about how this woman pulled off such a flawless Regina George costume one Halloween, the truth might be a bit of a letdown. The brace is real—she was actually hit by a car.

But she didn’t let that bring her down. If anything, it sparked an idea that she could laugh about all the way through physiotherapy.

They’re not the only ones who can misinterpret the world

Sometimes, an opportunity comes along that’s just too good to ignore. When it shows up, you have to be prepared to grab it with everything you’ve got.

Of course, there’s always some risk involved. But for those who dove in wholeheartedly and stayed focused on their goal, the rewards made every obstacle worth it.

Even hype beasts might turn this down

shoe2
fishbethany/reddit

Fashion isn’t always about practicality, but this shoe looks more like a weapon than footwear. No matter how long a foot is, it doesn’t naturally taper to a sharp point like this.

Sure, “Star Destroyer” might make a cool name for a trendy shoe, but that doesn’t mean it needs to resemble the massive ships from Star Wars so closely.

She was definitely rolling her eyes at this part

Kids sometimes take wild guesses like this on their homework, but more often than not, those guesses miss the mark.

Though this little girl might not be thrilled by the question, it actually serves as good preparation for real life—since in the workplace, she’ll likely encounter plenty of odd or unexpected questions too.

That’s an interesting theory

AJAX1814/reddit

When Reddit user AJAX1814 spotted this unusual bench at a train station, they joked it was made for people thankful to finally have room for their sizable posteriors.

While that’s a funny thought, the real reason is much simpler: it’s actually a built-in child’s seat within a bench designed for adults. Not as wild, but still a smart and practical design.

He’s playing a dangerous game

Usually, that cat’s claws would be perfectly placed to freeze most guys in place until the feline finally gets bored.

But this fearless guy doesn’t just dare the cat to scratch its most sensitive spot with a fish—he probably used that very fish to get himself into this predicament. Is he a glutton for punishment?

It’s comforting to know we’re not the only ones

library
JavaJapes/reddit

Everyone struggles with procrastination sometimes, and it seems that one library in the Canadian city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, is doing its part. That’s not by offering books on the subject but by procrastinating themselves.

Still, it feels good to know that these are empty shelves of solidarity. And appropriately, they put them up a week late.

What’s their ship called, the McNugget Falcon?

Anyone who’s long puzzled over what Grimace was meant to be is in for a shock—this wild paint job has officially turned him into a Wookiee.

As for what’s causing all the chaos in McDonaldland, that’s a bit trickier to pin down. Unless Darth Jack Box or Darth King is lurking around, it’s probably the sneaky handiwork of Jar Jar Hamburglar.

It’s just discomforting for some reason

candle2
Whowhywearwhat/reddit

While the thickened contents of a can of Spaghetti-Os might already look unappealing, turning them into a candle doesn’t exactly improve their visual appeal.

That being said, it only seems strange if this is truly wax. If it’s actually made from the real stuff, the idea of burning Spaghetti-Os probably wouldn’t win any fans as a fragrance.

That’s some serious commitment

toaster2
nightwolf777/reddit

Some folks will snicker and call this Scion model a toaster, but only one person has the courage to commit to it this hard. Note that they even added the labels on a toaster.

What’s courageous about that? Well, there doesn’t really appear to be a license plate, so they’re taking a risk. Granted, how many cars like this could possibly be on the road?

What are they so smug about?

Let’s be real—it’s already awkward enough buying games while getting side-eye from the cashier. The last thing anyone needs is the store itself looking like it’s about to argue with you in a comment section.

At least the judgment here is silent. It definitely softens the blow a little when you don’t have to hear someone start a sentence with, “Um, actually…”

There are some mixed messages here

It’s not every day you see a road sign that basically tells you to speed up when there’s a hazard ahead, but that’s exactly what it looks like here.

Most drivers are used to groaning at confusing signs, but this one almost feels like a little reward—like, “Sure, go ahead, hit the gas a bit.” Even if it makes absolutely no sense, who’s complaining?

This doesn’t seem like an official sponsorship

cart
reddit

Apparently, this man custom-builds ridiculous car concepts and drives them with aplomb. This giant shopping cart is one of his more inventive ones, but it seems like a deathtrap on the highway.

It turns out this hasn’t stopped him, and despite this being the easiest car in the world to describe, neither have the police. They must think they’re being pranked with every report.

This person has the right idea

It may be pretty gruesome at times, but 1999’s The Mummy holds up well. And, of course, how can anyone turn down Brendan Fraser’s boyish charms?

That said, if we measured our obligations in whether they were better than watching The Mummy, we’d never get anything done. It’s a good thing they didn’t have The Mummy when they were making it.

What even is this?

At a flea market in Pasadena, California, someone presented the wicker basket they made and the little friend they’ve got sitting on top of it. Well, either that or it’s using the basket as a toilet.

Unfortunately, what it is is about as unclear as what it’s supposed to be doing. But while it looks creepy, there’s something about it that makes it tempting to buy. Dark magic, maybe?

What a shame, even the cryptids can’t keep it classy

Visitors in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, might come across an unusual statue of a legendary figure known as the Mothman. But one visitor’s interest wasn’t purely paranormal.

Apparently, somebody noticed that the artist behind this statue gave the Mothman quite the posterior. So this prankster decided to accentuate its goods with a “tramp stamp.”

Believe it or not, this wasn’t on purpose

At some point, everybody gets the inclination to make a silly face in a picture. It’s the bane of moms everywhere, but it’s true and guaranteed to mess up some nice photos.

However, this isn’t what happened here. As the person in this photo said, “So Costco apparently doesn’t re-take membership card photos if you sneeze.”

“This is the name of a department where I work. How do I give people directions to it without getting fired?”

Salami__Tsunami/reddit

To any fun-wreckers out there, it’s probably true that nobody intended anything controversial with this sign. But why else would the zones in a building be called “neighborhoods?”

As Reddit user Salami__Tsunami put it, “This is the name of a department where I work. How do I give people directions to it without getting fired?”

No wonder he looks so awkward

Unless whoever made this sign is an innocent little cinnamon roll, they had to have known exactly why everyone would snicker at this. Spare a thought for the poor employee, though.

After all, that’s not a face that’s annoyed by all the bad jokes. That’s the face of someone who’s legitimately afraid customers will take this as a challenge.

Those must get in the way

When people see someone with really long nails, they often wonder how that person can comfortably use the bathroom. Not only is that also true here, but where do they wear these?

It’s pretty easy to see a dentist getting a kick out of these, but it’s hard to think of any other occasions where this is appropriate attire. Don’t forget to brush your nails!

They’re going to have to be more specific

Since this person likely isn’t expressing their love for the smell of campfires, it’s hard to tell what they want Elon Musk fired from.

Did they take one look at the cybertruck and decide he was done at Tesla? If it’s not that, are they hoping he finally wakes up and sells Twitter?

At least they’re consistent about it

When people get overbearing about their religion, it’s not uncommon to slyly remind them that they’re wearing mixed fabrics, which the Bible prohibits. This church saw that coming.

That little checkmate is no longer possible, as this church has rejected satin as much as they rejected Satan. And there’s no way he’s who they meant all along. No way at all.
