Somehow, a battle between working moms and stay-at-home moms (SAHM) manages to stay alive. Thanks, in part, to self-proclaimed Internet experts who “stay at home.” Facebook pages, books and blogs are created by these experts, in fits of self-righteousness, to tell other moms what they are doing is wrong. Of course, in contrast, their parenting style is perfect.
Fine. But isn’t blogging and writing working? I mean, if all the perfect moms are at their computers, WHO IS WATCHING THE CHILDREN?

Lori Anderson, author and expert mom behind “The Transformed Wife” website and book, is a conservative Christian who believes a woman’s place is in the home. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, and she is perfectly well within her rights to think so, and to write about it.
But there is also absolutely nothing wrong with other ways of managing a home and family. Men and women are free to explore whatever roles work best for their own homes.
What no one needs is a chart as divisive and polarizing as the one Anderson circulated via Facebook.

Her post was shared across the Internet and working moms and SAHMs alike questioned Anderson’s thinking. What about all the rich and fulfilled lives of women on both sides? Her weird flowchart showed that every working mom has a life that is “falling apart,” while only SAHMs were exalted as “blessed.” Yet most of the moms commented on the many blessings of simply being a parent–working, not working, remotely working, man or woman. As one commenter put it: welcome to the 21st century.
So, moms, forget all the comparisons between what works for your family and what works for others. Just be wonderful in your own chaos.
