There’s no doubt that whoever started PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) had a big heart that was in the right place. There’s also no doubt that, in recent years, a lot of what comes out of the organization’s mouth (via press release and social media, etc) has run the gamut between forcing guffaws to riling up the internet.
Their latest post, which asks people to mind their “anti-animal” language and compares the plight of animals not wanting to become food to humans who have battled sexism, racism, homophobia, etc, lands somewhere on the riling side – and the responses have been on point.
A mixture of outrange, hilarity, and smartassery is exactly what the internet should be used for, and…well.
This time, I think PETA is getting exactly the medicine they need.
Because when you’re being ridiculous, that’s pretty much what you should expect in response.
On the other hand, I would definitely like someone to bring home the bagels.
And also the bacon.
We’re halfway to a full breakfast, now!
