If you’re a fan of Mad Men or anything related to mid-century modern architecture and design, this will be right up your alley. The new TWA Hotel will open in May 2019 at New York’s JFK Airport, and it’ll be a serious throwback to the early 1960s.
The TWA terminal opened at JFK in 1962 and was designed by renowned modern architect Eero Saarinen. The terminal was listed as a New York City landmark in 1994 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, a few years after it closed in 2001.
The new hotel will feature 512 rooms that have a 1960s era vibe and will transport guests to the glory days of commercial flying.
Sounds like this is going to be an extremely hot place to stay. Book your room as fast as you can!
