Chances are that actor Richard Madden has popped up on your radar as of late, whether you were introduced to him as the ill-fated Robb Stark in Game of Thrones (The North Remembers), the handsome Prince Charming in Disney’s live action Cinderella, or the Elton John biopic Rocketman.

Richard Madden has filmed his fair share of intimate scenes, and when asked how his parents feel about his naked tush being on display for all to see in Bodyguard, he had this to say on Ellen:
“No, they’re never happy about the butt. I’ve made a few mistakes in my time, which is neglecting to tell my mother that there’s going to be a sex scene in the show. And then I get kind of a hysterical phone call of, ‘You must tell me and your father! I was watching it at the time and my cup of tea, I nearly spilled it!’ And then she covers her eyes.”

In a 2015 interview, Madden said that he’d be a “shy, fat kid living in Scotland with no girlfriend,” if it wasn’t for acting.

Game of Thrones did a lot for Madden when it came to visibility, but unlike some of his co-stars, he wasn’t on the show long enough to command a najor payday.
“People think I am rich, because of Game of Thrones, but you know, when I signed up for that I was 22.”

In the biopic Rocketman, Madden plays John Reid, Elton John’s first boyfriend and manager, and while promoting the film he told Jimmy Fallon that he and the real Elton John became friends after the film wrapped.

I mean, I’m not sure there’s any debate that Madden is good looking, but he does worry that his handsome face could become an issue for him.
“I worry sometimes about it affecting my job. If people go, ‘Oh, he’s that hunky thing,’ it undermines that actually I’m an actor and I’m trying really hard to be good at it.”

In a 2018 GQ interview, Madden shared that leaving the set – and his friends – hit him hard on the flight home.
“I was sobbing and covered in blood. I looked like I’d murdered someone and got on that flight which, in fact, I hadn’t – I’d been murdered.”

“The prince can’t have any genitalia, apparently. We had about two days of screen tests where we had to try lots of different jock straps, just to make sure we can’t see anything through the trousers.”
