Sure, many scientists live up to the stereotype of being total nerds about one thing or another, but who says that’s a bad thing?
Also, being a smart person has no impact on the sense of humor – a fact I’m about to scientifically prove by sharing some truly hilarious paper titles.
When Twitter got going on funny paper titles, scientists from all kinds of disciplines weighed in with the punniest, most clever titles they’ve come across – and ya’ll…I am dead.
They’re way funnier than anything ever written for The Big Bang Theory.
It all began with this tweet, in which post-doctoral researcher Lisa Stinson shared this gem: “Fantastic yeasts and where to find them: the hidden diversity of dimorphic fungal pathogens.”
Good, right?
But even if you’re not a Harry Potter person (somehow), these next couple are going to tickle your funny bone.
There were also more pop culture references, like this masterful allusions to Lord of the Rings:

And this one – Cypress Hill for the win!
And a nice play on Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
And sure, it’s on the nose, but sometimes the obvious joke is the best:

Basically the entire thread is amazing, and you won’t be sad if you spend a few minutes scrolling through it.
Not if you have a sense of humor, anyway.
