Anyone who was watching teen movies in the early 2000s surely remembers The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Though not a huge hit, the film was a cult classic that remains beloved by people of a certain age even today.

If that’s you, get excited – director Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids) has confirmed that Sharkboy and Lavagirl will return in the upcoming Netflix film We Can Be Heroes.

Not only that, but their daughter (squee!) will feature front and center in the story. In addition to her part in the mystery and drama of the show, her character is reportedly coming to terms with the powers and gifts that she inherited from both of her parents.

The film is about 11 children with superhero parents who have to band together to save the world after their parents are kidnapped.

No word yet on who the other children belong to, and there’s no release date set, so we’ll all have to sit on our hands for now.

Taylor Dooley, who played Lavagirl, will return to reprise her role – and since she’s a mother of two herself, now, feels confident she can pull it off.

I know you’re wondering whether or not Taylor Lautner will also return as Sharkboy, but there’s no word on that as of yet.

We do know that Priyanka Chopra and Pedro Pascal have signed on, though, so I honestly think there’s reason to get excited about this one.

Here’s hoping there’s more news soon, because I’m here ready to eat it up – and I know all of you Millennials out there are, too!
