It’s a sad fact of life that not everything we use in our lives comes with an instruction manual. That said, we live in the time of the internet, which means that if we don’t know the best way to use something, there’s a good chance there’s someone out there who does.
TikTok, especially, loves sharing hacks and blowing people’s minds.
If you’ve always wondered whether or not there’s a better way to fill up your ice cube trays, well…the answer is probably yes.

Me? I’ve always held onto the end and let water flow downward until all of the cups are full, but it turns out that they’re actually designed to fill up a bit differently.
According to TikTok user @4jmjcbitxh, you’re supposed to use those flat spots on the tray in order to get a perfectly even fill all of the time.

You pour the water onto the flat spot until the water fills the four sections around it, then move onto the next flat spot and so on until it’s all full.

As with most of these crazy simple hacks on TikTok and elsewhere online, people are loving learning new things about their everyday items that makes their lives a little bit easier.
Because I mean, who doesn’t love that?
