It used to be that advice held true for years – sometimes decades or multiple generations, even. And while I’m sure there’s still some good evergreen tips out there (like never eat yellow snow), the truth is that the world has changed so much in the past 50 years that our best advice has changed with it.
So, be careful before following these tips that used to be solid 100% of the time.

The irony is even in the 80s….there were cheap calculator watches (See Marty Mcfly/BTTF). Teachers have always been wrong about that.
12. Talk about a 180.
20 years ago: Don’t meet up with people you met on the internet and don’t get in cars with strangers.
Today: Get into the car with a stranger that you’ve summoned to your house using the internet.
11. You can take our avocados from our cold, dead hands.
Cut out fats from your diet because they make you fat.
10. So say we all.
If you ever travel back in time, don’t touch anything.
yea if i went back in time right now id touch and sneeze on all sorts of things lol i want a mulligan on this time line.
9. With a side of debt.

Stay away from the guy walking down the street having a full conversation with nobody.

7. Called out.
TIL most people forget 20 years ago was 2002 and not 1982.
A lot of the points raise were not true 20 years ago.
6. No one wants to do anything face-to-face now.
If you want a job, just walk into the place.
5. They have better stuff to do.
Don’t download music illegally or the feds will show up and drag you off into the inky black night.
4. Just take the day off.
“You can rest when you are dead”, in my opinion the “grind” culture is harmful and leads to a lot of physical and mental Illness.
Stress induced illnesses have never been as bad as it is right now. Burnouts have never been as high as they are now. Mental health is plummeting.
I understand that in some countries you have no choice but to grind to survive, but in developed countries I do not think society should encourage that mentality. Stress is a disease and this society is sick.
3. Throw this one away forever.

2. I mean, I wouldn’t call it safe.
Putting your credit card information on the internet to buy things is dangerous.
1. It’s a rough row to hoe.
Get a masters degree and you can become a professor.
Right now, you are lucky to be an adjunct.
PhD is the new masters for academia.
