Weird things that have a totally natural explanation

Sometimes you come across an object or an animal in the wild and you think, “that can’t be right.” The photos on this list might evoke a similar reaction, however, we promise that there is a natural explanation for each and every weird occurrence. We pinky swear that there aren’t any supernatural forces at work here.

Keep reading to see some photos that might just spark your imagination. If you learn something while you’re imagining, well, then that’s just a bonus.

These cute little vegetables aren’t tiny watermelons. They are cucamelons and they taste like a cross between a cucumber and a lime.

They are tiny bitter cucumbers and we are in love with them.

There really isn’t anything special about this toilet in particular. The light around it made by the window in the room is pretty special, though.

We’re not sure if this happened spontaneously, or if someone purposefully put the cactus in this spot. But it’s lovely either way!

If you look closely at this guy’s hand, you can see that his veins spell out the word “icy.”

Different Sizes

It looks like these two Nike slides have the same size bands but different size treads. Well, that’s because one of them was left in the sun for two months.

Apparently, these things can shrink.

Most plants will naturally bend towards the sun. This is called heliotropism. That’s what all of the sunflowers in this picture are doing.

Except for the one in the front. That one is facing the wrong way for some reason. Rebel!

These fake apples on display at Ikea have way too many bite marks on them.

Do you think all of those people actually thought that these were real red delicious apples?

We know that termites will chew their way through pretty much anything made of wood, and it looks like books aren’t safe from their wrath either.

I guess they aren’t really into reading.

This person found a mushroom growing out of their bathroom wall.

I guess it gets kind of moist and dark in there, making it the perfect environment for fungi growth.
