You know Brené Brown, yes? The woman whose TED Talk about vulnerability is one of the most watched Ted Talks of all time? If not, then you will soon, because she’s about to get her own Netflix special and it’s probably gonna be an instant classic.
Brené’s infamous TEDx Houston talk, “The Power of Vulnerability,” took place all the way back in 2010. It’s 20 minutes long, and it has well over 9 million views.
Soon, Brené fans will get a whole hour-long Netflix special version of her wisdom. The special is called Brené Brown: The Call to Courage, and it premiers on April 19, 2019.
The special was shot at Royce Hall at UCLA. Brené talks about courage (obvi), vulnerability, and how the two are related.
“The root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart,” Brené wrote on Instagram. “In one of its earliest forms, the word courage had a very different definition than it does today. Courage originally meant ‘To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.'”
In other words, courage and vulnerability are the same thing! I’m assuming this will all make more sense in the Netflix special.

Vulnerability is a topic that Brené has been studying and discussing for years – in addition to her TED Talk, she’s written five New York Times bestsellers, and she studies vulnerability for a living at the University of Houston.
She’s got a lot to teach, and she has a knack for making people cry, so grab your tissues and popcorn.
