If you live in the U.S., there’s a good chance you don’t think much about having a private healthcare system. You might complain about how much your premiums are every month, or moan about having to visit the E.R. because of the bill you know is coming later, or even realize that there are people filing bankruptcy every day because of sudden or life-threatening illnesses.
But for people in countries like Great Britain, where healthcare is subsidized by the government, the sticker shock here can be quite, well…shocking.
Like…an ambulance ride really gets you.
