Plenty of us have worked for a manager or two who just was a deeply unpleasant person to be around. Oftentimes, you just have to suck it up and deal with it.
But if you’ve ever worked for a manager who genuinely is not great at their job, and who even actively holds you back at your own… you know that sometimes, you have to take matters into your own hands.
One person recently explained that they worked for a manager who offered a terrible raise and bonus. So in return, the employee plotted to take away $300k in business from their cheapskate manager.
Everyone loves a good revenge story, right? Especially when it takes place over a long period of time.
Ahhh, it seems that this person made a rookie mistake right out of the gate: not reading the contract.
But no matter, surely it will be fine. Right? Except that things escalated pretty quickly.
Luckily, it sounds like this person leapt into their new role and really did a great job right from the beginning.
It’s fair that this person was annoyed by the manager’s attitude; after all, they took on someone else’s whole job in addition to their own, which barely any notice.
It’s pretty terrible that everyone wanted to find something bad on this person, but luckily, nothing existed. However, it’s easy to understand why they might want revenge on people who so clearly don’t appreciate their efforts.
So here’s where the revenge arc begins.
So clearly, the bosses aren’t expecting anyone to dip out during this really intense part of their work year.
Well… they probably shouldn’t have been so optimistic.
This person is absolutely NOT playing around!
This is also a great lesson in why it’s so important to know your labor laws! This person is able to win, win, win.
Also: it looks like someone made sure to read the contract this time.
You say blackmail, I say offer!
It’s pretty cool that in the end, the former employee got exactly what they wanted.
What do you think of this revenge story? Definitely let us know the comments!
