If you desperately need more Avengers action in your life, fret not! Disneyland is opening an entire Marvel-themed park, and it’s set to open in 2020.
Disney hasn’t officially announced the new theme park yet, so there’s not much information about it available. However, reporters have gleaned some info from building permits in Anaheim, California. The new park will include new rides, a character meet-and-greet area, a huge retail area, and even a themed microbrewery. It will go in California Adventures park.
The new park is taking the place of A Bug’s Land, based on A Bug’s Life. That park closed in September 2018. Construction is already underway in the area to overhaul it into whatever the new Marvel land will be called. The construction sign reads “Stark Industries,” of course.
Themed theme parks: is there anything more exciting? This new park comes just months after Disney unveiled its Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge worlds at several parks. Meanwhile, over at Universal Studios, fans are waiting up to 10 hours for a chance to ride the newest Hagrid-themed ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
It remains to be seen whether Disney will add Marvel lands to its parks worldwide or only at Disneyland in California. Multiple other parks, however, have Marvel-themed rides already, like Hong Kong Disneyland. It seems very possible that they’ll expand into entire Marvel worlds.
