Do you have a pup that loves to sleep in your bed? Except you sort of don’t want him too because of fur and muddy paws? This intrepid dog lover might have created a solution: the best indoor dog house/bed I’ve ever seen!
Buster is a rescue dog that struggles with anxiety, and because he’s so nervous, he spends most of his time hanging out in owner Sean Farrell’s room. So to do the double duty of keeping Buster from snuggling dirtily in the bed and giving him a safe place of his own, Sean came up with Buster’s boudoir.
“The boudoir was an idea to give Buster a cozy space of his own in the same room as me,” Sean told Inspire More. “To really let him know he can be safe around me and feel secure in his little den at the same time. [After finishing it], he went in there almost instantly. It has been a few weeks now and he’s happy to sleep and hang out in his house.”
Sean is the first to admit that he isn’t a great carpenter, but with a little love, Buster’s home starts taking shape.
“As it was in my own living room, I wanted it to blend in and look part of the room,” Sean said. “I had no real plan, I just bought some wood and plyboard, and just did it as I went along due to its enormous success with over 20 million views on Facebook.”
“From start to finish, the boudoir took me about four days to make. After I painted it and used carpet adhesive, Buster wasn’t allowed in for another 2 weeks. I’ll never fuss or play with him when he’s in there as I want him to feel it’s his own little corner.”
The final product is a dog’s oasis!
And how does Buster like it?
I’d say a picture is worth a thousand woofs.
“[After finishing it], he went in there almost instantly. It has been a few weeks now and he’s happy to sleep and hang out in his house,” Farrell mentioned to Animal Channel.
Great job, Sean!
