Dolly Parton and Drag Queen Nina West Teamed up to Support LGBTQ Youth

There’s no lack of research out there that proves the more support LGBTQ youth have, the more likely they are to survive and thrive.

And since Dolly Parton is an amazing human being who gives her best self to all of us all the time, her teaming up with a well-known drag queen to support the LGBTQ community shouldn’t come as a surprise.

She and Nina West have just released a clothing and accessory line, and the proceeds are meant to benefit underserved and underprivileged youth communities across the country – their respective foundations, Parton’s Imagination Library and the Nina West Foundation, are well established in providing.

There are three items in the Dolly x Nina Collection, and each feature an adorable illustration of the two – with big hair, of course – with retro letting, rainbows for days, and the mantra “Kindness is Queen.”

You can choose between a jersey T-shirt ($35), a enamel pin ($15), and a canvas tote bag ($25).

West and Parton had spoken and partnered before, so West said in an Entertainment Weekly interview that she was excited to talk with her about the idea of promoting kindness for a cause.

“When I approached Dolly with the idea for a collaboration between the Nina West Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, I was looking for an opportunity to continue to spread my message of kindness while building on the work I’ve done through my foundation supporting youth and families.”

Parton loved the idea, and saw an opportunity to support and reach even more at-risk kids.

West continued,

“We both want to spread the message that ‘Kindness is Queen,’ and that being kind is something that is desperately needed in our world right now.”

If you’re inspired, you can shop the collection here.

It’s only available for a limited time, so make sure to jump on it right now!

Me, I’m trying to decide between a t-shirt and a tote bag, but either way, I definitely need a pin, too.
