The holidays are a difficult season for many of us – and not just because of the emotional rollercoaster of seeing family. Buying and wrapping gifts not only takes time, but it isn’t always that easy to do.
Most of us can remember at least one time when we tried to wrap a gift with a peculiar shape, only to realize that we don’t have enough paper to make our gift look good. And I’m sure we can all remember having received a gift that didn’t look quite up to snuff compared to all the others under the tree.
But that ends now.
We bet U.K.-based book purveyor Waterstones has wrapped a lot of gifts over the years, and of course bookstores that do their own wrapping get really good at it. Or maybe it’s just that being around books provides people with superior intellect? Whatever the reason, the company knows exactly what to do when the wrapping paper isn’t the right size – and they shared their knowledge with the world.
The tweet went viral, and people all over scrambled to see if the hack works.
And it does.
Social media users responded, with some saying their lives had been forever changed. Okay, sort of.

But don’t worry if you’ve already wrapped your presents and they don’t look so polished. It’s the thought that counts, right?
