A New App Lets You Un-Send Embarrassing Drunk Texts

Oh boy. We’ve all been there before. You have a few too many drinks at the bar, you start looking at your phone, and then it happens. You send a bunch of drunk texts to an ex, to a friend you’re quarreling with, or to a guy or girl you’d like to hook up with. And when you look at your messages hungover the next morning, you feel humiliation and shame.

Yes, it’s as bad as it sounds.

But now we’re all in luck! A new app called On Second Thought is here to save the day. The app allows you to un-send messages and set up blocks of time when you can’t text anyone (I recommend after 10 pm).

The people behind the app surveyed 300 online daters, and the results are pretty telling. Over the past 6 months, 45% of those surveyed said they’d sent a message by accident, 71% said they’d sent a text they wish they could take back, and 83% said they’d most likely use the “take back” function on the app if they had the opportunity.

The app has a “grace period” feature that allows you to set an amount of time in which you can un-send a text. The maximum time is 60 seconds, so at most you have a minute to contemplate the hateful (or pathetic) message you just sent from your barstool. I personally know several people in my life who need to download this app IMMEDIATELY. On Second Thought is available in the Google Play Store.
