Sid Saunders was out for a leisurely stroll in a park England when he noticed something a little unusual. The retired Saunders usually carries a camera with him so he can photograph the nature he encounters on his walks, and he snapped a photo of what he first thought was just a piece of concrete protruding from the ground.

Upon closer inspection, he noticed that something was inscribed on the stone.

Saunders came back the next day to clean the stone so he could figure out what it said.

After cleaning the stone, he realized it was a headstone for a pet rabbit named “Dutchie”, whose owner had buried it there more than 130 years ago, in 1882.

After Saunders shared his photos and the story on Facebook, people weighed in with their thanks.
