Summer is the time for backyard barbecues and beach days with friends. And according to Pepsi, it’s also the perfect time for a refreshing new soda flavor: Pineapple.
The company is now making its classic soft drink with “a splash of pineapple juice,” according to the product’s box. People in Japan have already been drinking this delicious new beverage, but it just recently made its way into some United States stores.

You’ll likely be able to find this new drink in Walmart stores across the country in the near future.
Just imagine how tasty this would be with a splash of rum. Even better? Coconut rum. Then you could really get a pina colada vibe going on.
This isn’t the first time Pepsi has ventured into the fruity/citrusy territory. Last spring, Pepsi launched lime, mango and berry. These new flavors joined the classic Pepsi flavors of vanilla and wild cherry.
It’s not clear if the U.S. version of pineapple Pepsi will feature the same recipe as the one released in Japan. Even if you visited Japan recently and sampled some pineapple Pepsi, no one really knows what the U.S. soda will taste like just yet. Either way, it sounds like it will be utterly delicious and we’ll be first in line to try it out.
Are you a Pepsi or a Coke fan? Do you prefer the original, or do you like to try some of the new and experimental flavors from time to time?
