If you’ve got a pregnant friend who regularly posts using #ChipotleIsLife, have I got a baby gift idea for you.
It’s a swaddle that turns your tike into a baby burrito.
Yep.
A swaddle, for those non-parents among you have been lucky enough to not have to figure out how to shut a newborn baby up for long enough to get a couple hours of sleep, pins your baby’s arms and legs down so they can’t jerk themselves awake after a peaceful three minutes of snoozing.
Babies have what is called a moro reflex – a startle reflex meant to save them from falling – but it also keeps them from sleeping soundly during the first 3-5 months of life.
Enter the life-saving swaddle, and this tortilla one from Uncommon Goods might be too ridiculous to leave on the virtual shelves.
Sure, it costs $48, but you love your pregnant friends that much, right? Do you expect them to swaddle their baby in the free sleep sack from the hospital or – heaven forbid – the hospital blanket that every other baby takes their first picture wrapped inside?
I didn’t think so.
It’s described on the website like this: “Soft layers of stretchy cotton-polyester blend ‘tortilla’ envelop your cutie, keeping them cuddled, secure, and looking deliciously adorable.”
The fabric is, according to the website, breathable and able to keep baby a comfortable temperature (perhaps Chipotle should look into it), which makes it functional as well as adorable.
Best of luck finding a better gift than this one, my friends.
And if you’re the one getting ready to welcome a new little one, best of luck to you, too. On, you know. All of it.
