12 Everyday Objects That Have Zero Use for Left-Handed People

©Wikimedia Commons

My grandfather was left-handed, and proud of it. He had a coffee mug that said ,”if the right half of the brain controls the left half of the body, then only left handed people are in their rights minds.” People got him gifts that made jokes out of it, but let’s face it  it’s a righty world and lefties are just living in it.

Even if you’ve never thought about it before now, there’s no way you’ll be able to deny the truth in that statement once you read through this list. I mean, I’ve loved a lefty or two and never really thought about most of these until now.

12. Can openers

Bet you’ve never considered this, but geez. Can openers are hard enough to work with your dominant hand, never mind your weak one.

11. Baseball Gloves

Sure, if you bought your own, you were fine. But what about those poor lefty saps in gym class, hmm?

10. Belts

Think about it.

9. Cupholders

Have you ever tried reaching for your cup in the car with your left hand? I wouldn’t advise it, especially if you’re trying to be a responsible driver at the same time.

8. Scissors

I’m pretty sure most left-handed children were tortured by learning how to use scissors for the wrong hand, but if you weren’t and haven’t been gifted a pair of left-handed scissors, well…I’m not sure how you cut anything.

7. Zippers

Another device that can be frustrating to the most dexterous right-handers among us, but doing it in a way that feels backwards? ANNOYING AS HELL.

6. Desks

If you’ve ever taken the ONLY lefty desk in a classroom, you’ve gotten the evil-eye from the person who actually, you know, needs it.

5. Notebooks

I know you’ve seen those poor fools sitting in class with their wrists contorted at painful angles in a fruitless attempt to not smear everything they’ve just written into nonsense.

4. Measuring Cups

The liquid ones, anyway. Unless you know metric measurements, those hash marks are always going to be on the “wrong” side.

3. Video Game Controllers

Lefties are playing handicapped ALL THE TIME.

2. Playing Cards

I legit looked at this picture and thought “why are they holding them upside down, though?”

1. Highlighters

About as useful as pens and notebooks when it comes to schoolwork. It’s pretty hard to see what you’re highlighting when your entire hand is in the way.
