To a thief, an 82-year-old grandmother probably looks like easy pickings. Unless that 82-year-old grandmother happens to be a bodybuilder who lifts weights almost every single day, like Willie Murphy.
Willie Murphy lives in Rochester, New York. She was home alone recently, getting ready for bed, when a stranger began pounding on her door. The man claimed that he was sick and needed an ambulance.
Willie didn’t fall for it; she refused to let him in. So he broke the door down.
“I hear a loud noise,” Willie told reporters. “I’m thinking, ‘What the heck was that?’ The young man is in my home. He broke the door.”
Willie — who describes herself as “tough” and can deadlift 225 pounds — immediately went into beast mode. She lifted a table and beat the man with it until the table broke. While he was on the ground, she ran to grab a bottle of shampoo, which she poured into his eyes. Lastly, she beat him with a broom (in true Grandma style).
“He picked the wrong house to break into,” she said.
The man did try to fight back — but he was no match for Willie. By the time the police arrived, she says, “He’s laying down already because I had really did a number on that man. I’m serious.”
Ironically enough, the man did end up needing an ambulance. Willie suspects that he was actually relieved when the ambulance took him away from her wrath.
Which, I can understand. Note to self: do not mess with Willie!
