Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last year and a half, you’ve probably heard that a once-in-a-century virus has been sweeping throughout the world and leaving destruction in its path.
And it’s been rough for everyone.
So that’s why we need to try to be as healthy as we can possibly be!
What are some good hygiene tips that we should all know about?
AskReddit users shared their thoughts.
1. Do it!
“Floss your teeth!
People think brushing your teeth will completely rid you of smelly breath… wrong.
Next time you floss smell it and you will be grossed out.”
2. Gotta wash ’em.
“If you have persistent acne or have oily skin, wash your bedsheets and pillowcases every week.
Use hot water.
Your acne will reduce and you’ll get better quality sleep.”
3. Be sure to scrub.
“Soap isn’t the main component of cleaning something.
It’s the act of scrubbing that gets most of the job done.”
4. For ladies and gents.
“Use gold bond powder in your sweaty private areas.
Women, it works great to control under-boob sweat.
Dudes, I’d imagine it works for ball sweat, as well, though I’ve got no experience with that myself.”
5. Take care of that thing.
“For men: wash your beard!
It may seem like a no Brainer for some but I have plenty of friends that get itchy and get bad acne under their beards.
That’s because you have to WASH IT.
Treat it like you do your regular hair.”
6. Get in there.
“CLEAN YOUR BELLYBUTTON.
All you need is a q-tip and some rubbing al**hol.
But some people let it get so bad that they think they have some kind of cancerous mole when in reality it’s just a bunch of built-up lint.”
7. Don’t skip them.
“As a barber: wash around/behind your ears.
I’ve seen so many handsome, generally clean men immediately become gross to me because there’s gunk around their ears.
Some people are more prone to it than others, but all it takes to solve the problem is rubbing around your ears when you wash your hair.”
8. What’s your SPF?
“Sunscreen is the best anti aging cream.
A decent SPF does a better job at keeping your skin looking good than most moisturizers.
If you have a favorite cream you use daily mix it up with sunscreen to make it ten times better.”
9. Good one!
“Rotate the athletic shoes you wear and allow the insoles to dry and be exposed to UV light (sit outside).
This will decrease your incidents of athletes foot and jock itch.”
10. The little things.
“Make an effort every day.
Pluck those stray brows, brush your teeth, wear deodorant, shave, little hair product, wear only clean un-stained clothes.
It matters. People judge you.
Doing a little something will boost your confidence and protect you against the critical eye of other people.”
11. Good point.
“Wash your belt buckle.
Seriously how often do you do it? Probably never.
Yet you always touch it with unwashed hands and think nothing if it clanks on the floor of a public restroom.”
12. Do it at night.
“Showering at night is WAY more hygienic than in the morning!
Only having morning showers means you take all the dirt and grime from the day into your bed and you end up festering in it all night as you sleep.
Even something simple like wiping yourself down with wet wipes or a soapy towel can make a big difference to your hygiene.”
13. Lot of stuff back there.
“Wash the back of your neck with soap and a washcloth.
Otherwise all the oil and skin cells show up on your collar.”
14. Not an everyday thing.
“You do not need to wash your hair every day, and I am not saying do not keep yourself clean or do not take special care about your bodys smelliest bits.
Just that you do not need a hot steamy shower every day where you wash your hair with products that wash away all the natural oils. That’s damaging your skin and your hair.
It is not bad to have some natural oil in your hair, and we definitely should not shame people for it.”
15. There you have it.
“My fellow Americans,
GET A BIDET.”
Now it’s your turn.
