Finding Dory, the long-anticipated sequel to Pixar’s hugely successful Finding Nemo, is finally here. However, pet stores and fish experts are trying to do their part for Mother Nature by not stocking the blue tang fish, which is portrayed by Dory’s character in the movie.
When Finding Nemo released, stores saw a rush to buy clownfish (like Nemo!) for their home aquariums.
Children loved them and wanted their very own, and because clownfish can be easily bred in captivity it was no trouble for stores and breeders to increase their inventory.
The blue tang, however, has not been successfully bred by humans.
