It can be hard to track down good action movies. Like, really hard.

I like to get pretty specific with my action films, and that’s why these secret codes from Netflix are awesome because they have the action genre (and every other genre) broken down to very specific sub-genres.

To access each of these individual categories, replace the “xxx” in this web address with the corresponding code number below OR just click directly on the links we provided.


Oh, and you’ll also have to be signed into Netflix in order to view these. Because, you know, that’s only fair.

Now let’s get our action on!

1. Asian Action Movies (77232)

There are a ton of good Asian action movies out there to pick from. Some of the ones you might want to check out on Netflix streaming are Train to Busan, The Night Comes For Us, and Headshot.

Just so you know, Asian action movies are usually pretty violent and bloody…just so you know.

2. Classic Action & Adventure (46576)

Ahhh, yes. The classics. The good stuff from the old days!

Here are just a few of the films you might want to watch in this category: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and even the incredible Back to the Future.

3. Action Comedies (43040)

Do you like your action flicks to be on the goofy side? Then this is the genre for you!

Choose from such funny action flicks as The Other Guys, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and the buddy comedy Bad Boys II.

4. Action Thrillers (43048)

Do you like to be on the edge of your seat when you watch a movie? Then take a look at the Action Thrillers category.

You might be interested in Snowpiercer, End of Watch, and Minority Report starring Tom Cruise.

It’s Doc Brown and Marty McFly! This category is chock-full of fun adventure films like Back to the FutureSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Well, lucky for you Netflix has a good selection to choose from and you know they’ll just be adding more based on how popular these films are.

Sink your teeth into Avengers: Infinity War, Hancock, and The Green Hornet.

Do you enjoy the rustic setting of Western action films? I know I do!

Tap into this category and you can watch Django Unchained, Hostiles, The Hateful Eight, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, among others.

8. Spy Action & Adventure (10702)

Espionage films can be a ton of fun if they are done well. And there are quite a few of them out there that fit the bill.

This genre on Netflix will allow you to see Patriot Games, The Saint, and a number of James Bond films.

9. Crime Action & Adventure (9584)

Get all revved up and taken away on an action-packed journey with these films.

You can watch Triple Frontier, The Tourist, and the recent release, Spenser Confidential.

10. Martial Arts Movies (8985)

I grew up on these kinds of flicks and I absolutely love them!

If you’re like me, you’ll want to use this code to watch Bloodsport, The Matrix Revolutions, Kung Fu Hustle, and old-school martial arts movies like Return to the 36th Chamber.

If you want to watch some great military action films, in this category you’ll find titles such as Defiance, Red Dawn (the original one from 1984), Hamburger Hill, and The Last Samurai.
