We have so many influences in our lives when we’re kids and we have information coming at us from all angles.
Our parents, siblings, friends, and classmates all filled our heads with wild and crazy stuff…and some of us had it worse than others…
Are you ready to take a trip down Memory Lane?
People shared the weird things they believed when they were kids. Let’s take a look.
1. There’s mice in there!
Do not disturb.
2. You were DEAD WRONG.
Have you ever heard of the “Two Pump Chump”?
I thought sex (specifically to make a baby) took all night. Like, 10pm-7am.

3. I still do…
Wait, what just happened?
I found out Santa wasn’t real when I was 6 but still believed in the plausibility of the Easter Bunny til I was 10

4. A really good football team.
Even better than the Chiefs!
Before your time, when I was a child I thought the ‘Viet Cong Guerillas’ was a football team.

5. The cloud factory.
This is very wholesome.
My mom convinced me that the steel mill in our town was the factory where clouds were made and that’s why there was always a big cloud above it. pic.twitter.com/adhey9AkSW

6. Up in the air.
I bet your mom was pretty mad.
I thought that when you finished a camera roll 📸 the pictures were sent invisibly in the air to Kmart and we just picked them up later. My mom taught me how wrong I was after destroying a camera roll out of curiosity. It was her friend’s baby shower 😬

7. Not a football movie.
Sorry to break it to you…
I stayed up late when I was 8, so I could watch the football movie…The Hunchback of Notre Dame…..I didnt give up on the premise til at least 15 minutes into it.

8. Doesn’t work that way.
At least, I don’t think it does…
I thought humans reproduced by laying eggs and then a male comes and fertilizes them like fish

9. They’re HOW BIG?!?!
That’s a scary thought.
I had a horrible fear of jack rabbits for about a year… After a misunderstanding of asking my dad how big they were, and he held his hand out over our floor and said “this high from the ground”… But we lived in a 3rd floor apartment and i really hung onto *ground* vs floor.

10. Wouldn’t that be something?
Alligator pickles, huh?
I thought pickles were made from alligators.

11. Mom with the zinger!
She nailed it.
I asked my mom why her thighs were prickly and she told me she had sat on a cactus when she was younger. I believed this for a very long time.

12. Hey, that’s a good deal!
Why can’t this be true?
I thought the year on car windshields at a car dealership was how much they cost. Genuinely believed all cars, new or older, cost less than $2000.
