Women feel a lot of pressure to look good in all situations, but during childbirth couldn’t possibly be one of them, right?
Some women are getting themselves all dolled up before giving birth, so they can look good in the photos with their newborn.

Yes, that hashtag above says #glamduringlabor. Okay…
Here are some more examples of this phenomenon.

. 3 days ago I got a phone call from my sis in law at 2am saying she had her first contraction. So I jumped on the next plane out of Adelaide to be by her side ASAP! I arrived at 12pm and her contractions had fully slowed down and she was a bit stressed so I said let me do your makeup. Half way through doing her makeup she was so relaxed that her contractions sped up to every few mins and we then had to race to the hospital – She was 7cm dilated! I think I’m onto something here… Getting your makeup done whilst in labour relaxes you, speeds up the process and you look good ? Thank you @belinda.campbell.338 for inviting me to the labour, it was such an honour and was so beautiful watching my nephew come into this world ??? #labour #contractions #birth #pregnant #pregnantbelly #labourmakeup

We live in a world where women feel the need to explain why they don't have a full face of makeup during labor on an insta post pic.twitter.com/MxVNAVLUFF

I cringe everytime i see a women posting pictures like this one after they deliver. Giving soon to be mamas unrealistic expectations how birthing should look like makes my blood boil. pic.twitter.com/KeUgmPJZb9

researching water birth and one of the "cons" listed is that your makeup will wear off faster… who the heck wears makeup during labor???

How sad. I gave birth to five children with no thought for what I looked like afterwards. Women you are never more beautiful or strong than in the triumphant elation after giving birth to your baby https://t.co/qnEwqE7hMn

Hey, to each their own, but this just seems kind of weird to me…
