I don’t know about you, but I sure do miss traveling. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been on an airplane, and even with all of the hassles of air travel, I personally can’t wait to have another boarding pass in my hand.
When you do, though, don’t you want to be a good traveler? After the couple of years that flight attendants and other airline staff have had, I think we should all do what we can to make their lives easier, don’t you?
To that end, here are 8 things you should never do on a plane, per a seasoned flight attendant.
8. Don’t get up when the plane lands.
“It’s not safe.
You want to make sure you are seated until you are at the gate and the seat belt sign turns off.”
7. Don’t ever go barefoot.
“Don’t take your shoes off. The floors are filthy.
I see so many people do this and it’s just not sanitary.
Don’t do it.”
6. Drink plenty of water.
“Stay hydrated!
You want to have about 16 ounces for every flight that you go on.
Just keep that in mind.”
5. Don’t get up during turbulence.
“The captain or the flight attendants will always try to let you know if they expect turbulence.”
4. Don’t lean your head on the window.
“You’re not the only one who has done that, or fallen asleep like that.
And you don’t know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.”
3. Don’t ignore them while they’re doing their safety demos.
“In the unlikely event of something happening, if you paid attention, you are 80% more likely to survive.”
2. Don’t stay quiet if you’re feeling ill.
“We are there to help , so if you need food, water, or an air sickness bag, please let us know.”
1. Don’t snap at the flight attendants.
“You shouldn’t be doing this in general, but to get someone’s attention, you don’t need to be doing that.”
I don’t think any of these are that tough, and they’ll protect us, too.
