Secondhand bookstores offer a fantastic way to discover books without breaking the bank. What adds to the thrill is stumbling upon unexpected surprises tucked between the pages.

Occasionally, readers come across dried flowers, vintage photographs, or charming love notes hidden inside the volumes.

Someone came across a Bible dating back to 1895, and as they leafed through it, a photo of a young girl fell out.

Written on the back were the words, “Ain’t I a peach? Ha ha.”

The certificate appears to be a reissue, as the marriage date listed is from January 1901.

It shows a handful of soldiers standing in front of the Eagle’s Nest, or “Hitler’s House” as this person called it, in July 1945.
