Guy In New York Sees A Girl Dancing On A Roof, Sends A Drone To Her With His Number On It

This story is like a meet-cute from a Nora Ephron movie, if it was set in today’s weird and wacky world. And not only that, but it’s set in Brooklyn, and that means it really could find its way to the big screen by this time next summer.

It all began on a chilly March day, when Jeremy Cohen noticed a girl dancing on a nearby roof. They saw each other and waved, but Jeremy was intrigued and told Bored Panda he wanted to take things another step.

And Jeremy had a confession…

“I actually haven’t been on a date in at least a year.

I think I was just craving some social interaction, and being confined by the walls of my apartment inspired some creativity for me.”

Like many people right now, Jeremy is stuck in his apartment alone, going out in limited spurts, and is getting a bit stir crazy.

“I’m all cooped up in my apartment alone, so its definitely different than my normal life of being out and about all the time (there’s so much to do in NYC!). For now, I’m taking it day by day.”

And now he has a new (and totally adorable) distraction in his neighbor, Tori – even more so after he sent her a message (and his phone number) via drone.

“I grabbed my tape, pen, drone, and paper. Then I wrote down my digits and sealed them on my drone. Flirting is normally daunting for me, but since I’ve been quarantined in my apartment for a week now, I was screaming for social interaction.”

He sent it over and held his breath.

“2020 has been off to a terrible start, but I still needed to shoot my shot. She picked up my drone and I guess it worked because I got a text from her an hour later.”

Everybody! Meet…. drum roll…

The two talked, and the next day Jeremy set up a “date” with her roommate helping out.

They complied with social distancing rules – him on his balcony, Tori on her roof – and had dinner together using FaceTime.

Jeremy is a professional photographer, so he took some pictures, and was a total gentleman, too.

“I told her she looked beautiful. So we got on FaceTime and ate our matching organic, microwaved single dinners together.

The date was going so well and depending on how long this quarantine lasts, I might be in a long-distance relationship with someone who lives across the street from me.”

Okay, that is TOTES adorbs. *swoon*

There’s no update except that things are going well, and the two plan to have more “dates” in the days to come.

Oh, except this was date #2…

As for Jeremy, he says that all of the attention his TikTok video has gotten him is nice.

“It makes me feel good to know people are rooting for me, but more importantly, it gives something for people to believe in during these strange and dark times.

If this story brings joy to people, then that brings joy to me.”

No pressure on a budding relationship, just the whole internet rooting for you to be together!

I really hope the two of them continue to share as long as it keeps going well, because I definitely need to know how it all shakes out!
