Remember how intimidating the periodic table was in middle school Science class? How you studied the table day and night trying to get ready for the big test? And then after the test, at least for me, the information kind of went out the window and I never thought about it again.
Well, I really wish I’d had access to this illustrated periodic table when I was in school. It was created by a software engineer named Keith Enevoldsen and it features an illustration showing where you might encounter each element in your everyday life. For example, sodium would be regular table salt.
Here’s another chunk of the table complete with useful illustrations detailing where you encounter each element in your life.
Although Enevoldsen designed the table for use in schools, you can obviously see how useful it is for adults as well.
In addition to the illustrations and the real-life examples, the table shows each element’s atomic number and its material state (liquid, solid, or gas).
Here are some more portions of the table for you to peruse.
Trust me, you can spend all day on here browsing around.
