Every religion is home to good people and bad people, and every religion has the power to unite and also to divide. There are no exceptions, but lately Islam has been taking more than its share of flack in the world. That fact has proven dangerous for its adherents, so in an effort to dispel negative and hurtful stereotypes, Imam Mohammad Tawhidi has taken to Twitter.
He rose to fame a few years ago as he fought for Muslim reform and called faithful followers to reject the rise of extremism within the religion.
“When I am worried about what I see is happening from my community and religion, trust me that there is something going on,” he told an Australian news program.
And so he decided to do something about it – he’s using Twitter to talk about Islam in a positive light.

Some have questioned Tawhidi’s qualifications as well as his past ideologies, but for now, it seems that he’s intent on speaking truth to power, and that’s something we can salute.
