A puppy has been dubbed a “unicorn” due to the tail growing out of his head.
Missouri-based rescue organization Mac’s Mission discovered the puppy wandering outside in the freezing cold. The rescuers were shocked to find that the adorable little pup had a very unusual feature: a growth protruding from between his eyes.
Yep, this little guy has two tails, and the second tail grows floppily out of his forehead. It doesn’t wag, as rescuers discovered after taking him to the vet. It “has no real use other than making him THE COOLEST PUPPY EVER,” they wrote.
The tail also happens to make him look like a unicorn, so the organization named him “Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn.”
The tail doesn’t seem to bother Narwhal, nor is there any medical reason to have it removed.
“He never slows down just like any normal puppy,” the rescuers said. “He seems completely healthy other than some usual puppy worms he got meds for.”
Clearly, though, Narwhal’s tail makes him very special. Photos of the pup have gone viral, and many people are now dying to make this unicorn puppy their own. But Mac’s Mission has opted not to put him up for adoption just yet. He needs to grow a bit older before he’s ready for adoption—plus, the rescuers want to make sure that the tail doesn’t grow more and become an issue.
With everyone from Zach Braff to Mark Hamill sharing photos of Narwhal, he’ll likely have no problem finding his forever home when it’s time.
