Xbox Body Wash Is a Thing Now, Even Though Literally No One Asked for This

Here’s a product that nobody asked for: Xbox-inspired body wash. Would you buy that? Do you know anyone who would buy that? No? How about Xbox-inspired deodorant, or Xbox-inspired body spray, or Xbox-inspired shampoo?

All of these things now exist, and, nope, this is not a joke. The products are a collaboration between Microsoft and Lynx, which is the name for Axe in Australia and other countries outside the US, and they’ll be hitting stores in Australia in July.

You may be wondering what an Xbox-inspired fragrance even smells like (among many other questions).

Lynx says it smells like “a fresh scent of pulsing green citrus, featuring top notes of kaffir lime and winter lemon, aromatic herbal middle notes of mint and sage, and woody bottom notes of patchouli and clearwood,” per GameSpot.

PER GAMESPOT, the publication I want reporting on my signature scent.

Second question: WHY?

So that gamers can “power up” with Xbox Lynx products before they leave the house. Or something…

“We see Xbox fans achieve incredible things every day, and we wanted to celebrate that elevated skill, passion and determination by creating something truly special,” explained Xbox ANZ boss Tania Chee. “Now, powering up can be as simple as a quick spray before you head out the door.”

The inventor of Xbox, Seamus Blackley, seems absolutely thrilled by this development. And by thrilled, I mean horrified.

“I seriously and honestly have no comment. I have no idea what a comment would even be on this,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’m frankly thinking of just going and drinking heavily at this point.”

Honestly, same.
