10 Guys Talk: What She Did That Killed Any Chance of a Second Date

Scenergy Dating

I’ve dated – it’s not all that much fun, and generally I (as the woman) was the one clamoring to get the hell out of a first date and never look back. Which is not to say that the guy couldn’t have felt the same way – we never had to see each other again, so I guess I’ll never know, and that’s more than okay with me!

These guys, though, felt the need to share with the Internet the things that happened on their first date that had them saying “check, please!” with no intention of getting her number for a second go-around.

#10. We had absolutely no television shows in common. None!

“She wanted to talk about The Bachelorette the whole night, while I just wanted to talk to her about Game of Thrones. There was nothing both of us enjoyed doing together, absolutely nothing.”

#9. Not exactly summer fling material.

“She was gorgeous and I loved talking to her and getting to know her but we started dating in the middle of the summer and there was just a point I realized she was more serious about it than I was. I wanted to be able to date other people, she didn’t.”

#8. She sounds like my mother.

“A few years ago I met a girl at a bar and we had great conversation and exchanged numbers really quickly. The next morning she sent me a flood of messages in the span of 2 hours. So by the time I woke up I already had 4 messages from her.”

#7. This guy sounds like a douchebag. Or a really tough interviewer.

“I had just become single again and had four different dating apps. I was finding a different girl to go out with every night. If a girl didn’t blow me away on date one, there wasn’t a date two.”

#6. Sometimes an offer is everything.

“Not saying I would have made her pay, but the offer would have been the right thing to do. We went to an expensive place for dinner and the bill was really high. She could have pulled our her wallet. Instead she just sat there and didn’t even say thanks.”

#5. Bad Touch!

“She stuck her fingers in my nostrils in the middle of the bar. She claimed it was a joke. She wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise and I could just tell we were on two different pages in terms of our interests.”

#4. Gold diggers, move along.

“It was clear she was looking for a guy to support her and push money into her bank account. She kept asking questions to find out how much I paid for rent and how much I made at my job. It was funny, but also gross.”

#3. Insecurity, Party of One.

“I thought the first date went really well and I wanted a second, but she didn’t seem interested. I went in for a kiss and hug when we said goodnight and she gave me a handshake instead. I didn’t bother chasing her or asking her for date two.”

#2. Conversations should involve two people.

“While we love a girl who can hold a conversation, talking too much is just a major turn off. If you talk so much we can barely get a word out, chances are there won’t be a second date. We like two way conversations!”

#1. Cell phone overload.

“All she managed to do the whole date was stare at her phone. If you want to check in with a girlfriend, okay, but there’s no need to be on your phone the whole date. We’d rather you put your phone away and pay attention to us for once!”

What about you? Have you ever experienced something that made you say NEVER when asked out for a date number two? Do share!
