If you’re ever feeling down, it can be hard to pinpoint exactly what’s bothering you and why. Often, the best way to get out of a funky is to simply distract yourself, especially if you can distract yourself with something funny or upbeat.

Movies to the rescue! Below are our top picks for movies that are guaranteed to cheer you up anytime you’re feeling down. Bookmark this list for later!

1. “Elf”

OK, yes, it’s a Christmas movie but it’s also hilarious and super quotable.

2. “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”

It’s a classic and it has some great one-liners. “It’s just a flesh wound!”

3. “Princess Bride”

INCONCEIVABLE! If you haven’t seen this movie yet, what are you waiting for? It’s almost guaranteed to cheer you up.

4. “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”

This movie seriously never gets old. All that teenage angst that practically oozes out of the screen.

5. “The Great Outdoors”

It’s a classic, goofy comedy featuring Chevy Chase and John Candy.

6. “Ghostbusters”

“Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!” Even though this movie does get a little spooky and suspenseful at the end, it’s mostly about the joyful antics of the ghostbusters.

7. “Legally Blonde”

It’s one of Reese Witherspoon’s best performances and it’s just such a satisfying story in the end.

8. “Zootopia”

Any movie that anthropomorphized animals is a good one in my book. Plus, this one has a great plot and top-notch animation.

Falling in love, tap dancing, singing, what more could you want from a movie?

If you can watch this movie and not feel immediately cheered up by the Minions, then I’m sorry, we can’t help you here.
